I can’t get emissions data from my suppliers. How are emissions calculated instead?
When supplier emissions data is unavailable, Scope 3 emissions can be estimated using spend- or activity-based approaches aligned with the GHG Protocol.
If supplier-provided emissions data or product carbon footprint information is not available, emissions can be calculated using spend-based or activity-based approaches in line with the GHG Protocol. These methods rely on commonly available internal data, such as financial and procurement records, to estimate Scope 3 emissions.
